In 2011, Lydia went on to receive her MFA from Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has since been involved in residencies and research in the Netherlands, Italy, India, Hawaii, Japan, and Hungary. Lydia is an alumni of Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. In 2014, she became a recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. She was awarded a second grant, in 2019.

Lydia has exhibited across the United States and Internationally. Her studio is in a historic factory building in Norwalk, Connecticut.
