What is the Bow WOW Art Dogs Event?

This is an event where local citizens and businesses can purchase fiberglass resin dog statues to decorate in any and every way possible to be displayed all over Ridgefield, CT.

All proceeds from the event will be donated back to ROAR Animal Rescue and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum.

From August 1st – September 26th, participants will be able to display their decorated dog in their windows or around town.

The weekend of September 12-14, a “parade” will be held sponsored by RPAC Gallery & ROAR. Maps designating the locations of all completed statues will be provided and all businesses will join the cause by providing discounts and other special events. Dog Portraits, grooming and “Find The Chihuahua” are proposed coordinating events.

On September 26th from 5-9 pm, an auction will be held at the Aldrich wherein all net proceeds will be to benefit The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and ROAR Animal Rescue. The event will incorporate both a silent auction for the “Art Dogs” and a live auction potentially including some “Celebrity Art Dogs”.

How Do Businesses and Community Members Participate?

Sponsor (adopt) a dog.  Sponsorship Agreements and payment is now available, click here for our online form or or download your Bow WOW Sponsorship Agreement. Then you can work with an artist of your choice or create your own design and submit the design idea for your dog for approval – think “auctionable”

Example: If you own a Frame Shop, you may consider painting your dog in a Renaissance-style outfit and displaying it so it appears as a framed painting.

Example: If you’re a Coffee Shop, you could cover your dog in coffee beans and display it with a coffee cup hanging out of its mouth.

Decorate your dog!

All dogs must be completed by August 1st. RPAC Representatives will be coming by to take pictures for the map and auction catalog.

Display your dog!

Be sure to advertise on social media and post flyers. Send any pictures to info@rpacartcenter.com so representatives may distribute these to all local media and social media partners.

Deliver your dog to a location TBD.

Save The Date for our “Leader of the Pack” and check back to buy your tickets through this website!   By auctioning off the decorated art dogs, we’re raising money for both ROAR and the Aldrich Museum.

How To Get Involved

Promote the event in ANY way possible including press releases, social media, advertisements, and donor campaigns.

Promote attendance at the Auction to be held at the Aldrich on September 26th “Have a ROARing Good Time!”
